When we say “everlasting flowers”, we mean that your arrangement can last forever. Forever, as in, for a long, long time. However, we have to state the obvious…. they are not indestructible.
Sola wood flowers are made from one of a few types of renewable materials – shola, cassava or yuca. The majority of the flowers we provide are from the shola or Aeschynomene aspera plant. This natural material is hand-made into a great variety of flowers. We treat these blooms with care to ensure that they will look their best and stay as beautiful as the day they were painted.
If you are like most, it’s almost impossible to resist feeling the petals. Depending on the style of the flower, you may find it feels very much like a fresh flower. This is because we treat the material with a natural conditioner which increases pliability and adds a softness of touch.
To keep your flowers looking as lovely as the day they arrived, we have some helpful tips to assist you.
- Avoid moisture and direct sunlight.
- Just like your skin, sola flowers do best avoiding excessive moisture and sunlight. Keep your colors bright and the petals at their best by placing your arrangement out of direct sunlight and away from damp areas.
- Dust occasionally with a dry cloth or wand duster.
- Each bloom has been hand-painted and treated with a natural softener to keep them pliable and soft. Lightly dust to keep them looking fresh.
- If storing seasonal arrangements, keep them in a breathable bag or box.
- Your blooms will appreciate some breathing space and protection from bumps and bruises. If storing in a place that may be subjected to humidity, add a moisture absorbing packet to the container. You will find a few included in your shipment.
